The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, Inc. (PACFA) is an 'umbrella' organisation comprising affiliated professional associations that represent different regions and various modalities within the disciplines of counselling and psychotherapy in Australia. CASA is a constituent member of PACFA.

PACFA National Register

PACFA has a National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors. The PACFA Register is designed to provide a national listing of qualified counsellors and psychotherapists for the Australian community. Those listed have been assessed against eligibility criteria that include an approved level of professional training and experience, and a supportive professional infrastructure which will facilitate responsible work with clients.

Clinical members
of CASA are eligible to apply for inclusion on the PACFA Register at the Clinical level.
Professional members of CASA are eligible to apply for inclusion on the PACFA Register at the Provisional level.
Intern members of CASA are eligible to apply for inclusion on the PACFA Register at the Intern level.

PACFA encourages member associations which represent similar backgrounds and approaches in the work of psychotherapy and counselling to group together in order to form Sections within the Register. CASA belongs to the Counselling Therapists Section. Each Section has a Flag Statement.

PACFA provides information on a regular basis to its Member Associations, health and government agencies and members of the public via an electronic newsletter, the PACFA eNews.

The PACFA eNews is published every two months and includes information on forthcoming seminars and events, a media watch and updates on the achievements of PACFA and its Member Associations.
